In the town of Mawlamyaing, situated on the Than Lwin River, you will find several mosques. The coexistence of the Buddhist majority with the Muslims works well here, but in other parts of the country there are repeated attacks by ultra-right Buddhist currents around the monk Ashin Wirathu. These attacks are aimed at the Rohingya in Rakhine State , one of the most persecuted Muslim ethnic groups in the world. | Myanmar
