Gypsy Harbor
In the village of the sea nomads in the south of Koh Lanta: Sanggaou in the southeast of the island is still the home of Koh Lanta's first settlers. Called Chao Leh (sea nomads), they led a semi-nomadic life.
Their language is a spoken language, there are no written traditions. They are excellent boat builders, fishermen and divers. They can stay under water at a depth for a very long time - in the past with nothing more than diving goggles carved out of wood. Every family owns a boat, built with very simple tools. | Thailand
