The colour in the water garden

In the aboretum near Ellerhop: Part of the lotus pond is in bloom.

There are two species, while one of the species is native to Asia and Australia, the other is native to the USA. In its native country, the lotus is not only used as an ornamental plant, but also as a foodstuff. Both the roots and the stems, seeds and fruits are eaten and used in medicines. In addition, the lotus is a symbol of purity and faithfulness in Asia and plays an important role in Buddhism.
