Rare insights: In the morning on our roof window a dove wiggles over the slippery glass surface.
The saying "A bird in the hand is better than a dove on the roof" means that you should be satisfied with what you have for sure. Even if it seems that this is not worth very much. A bird in the hand is safe, but the pigeon on the roof can fly away at any time.
