Downtown Pyiu U Lwin: former British influence, christian buildings, and burmese signs. The city, at 1070 metres height, has a cool climate and was used as a summer residence by the British until the second world war. At that time, it was named after British Mayor May "Maymyo" (Maycity). After the military coup of 1988 the town was named back to Pyin U Lwin. ¦ Myanmar
