Money on the Elbe

View over the Elbe downstream: A stormy day at the jetty in Blankenese. The Elbe suburb of Hamburg, a former fishing village, is today one of the most expensive residential areas in the Hanseatic city. The name Blankenese is derived from the German "Glänzende Nase". Who runs by the steep stairs of the quarter can look partial into the old houses, in the touristic high season the inhabitants can be sorry.
