Breakfast in El Raval

The El Raval district in Barcelona is one of the most densely populated parts of the city. With its narrow development of factories and simple tenement houses from the time of the Industrial Revolution, El Raval was a poor district for a long time. Extensive modernisation since the mid-1980s in preparation for the 1992 Olympic Games has led to a marked improvement in the quality of life in many parts of El Raval, but with progressive gentrification. Due to its high proportion of migrants, El Raval is considered the most multicultural district. | Spain
