Between cliffs and nets

Abandoned Martian landscape: Shuwaymiyah Beach, located on the southeastern coast of Oman, is a remote and unspoiled coastal strip with impressive cliffs, turquoise blue waters and fine sand. Near the beach is the small fishing village of Shuwaymiyah, where the traditional way of life is still maintained today. The fishermen go out to sea early in the morning in simple boats to cast their nets – often using centuries-old methods. Their work not only shapes the everyday life of the village, but also the supply of fresh fish to the region. Shuwaymiyah Beach is therefore not only a place of natural beauty, but also a silent testimony to the close connection between man and the sea. | Oman
