One of the six Band-e-Amir lakes in the high valley of the province #Bamiyan. Since 2009 they have been designated as the first national park in Afghanistan. Bamiyan is located in the center of the country in the Hazarajat region, and is the cultural center of the Hazara ethnic group. The place is located on a high plateau in 3500 meters and is probably one of the most spectacular landscapes of Afghanistan. On the opposite shore is a Shiite shrine.
