Before the grape harvest

Evening atmosphere at Kalakan: The valley, north of Kabul, in front of the four and five thousand metre peaks of the Hindu Kush mainly lives from wine growing. Today the cultivation serves mainly for the production of raisins.

In the sixties and seventies there were still vintners in the region, but at the very latest after the Taliban controlled the country, the production was of course forbidden. | Afghanistan
