Perhaps not the most appropriate image for a country in civil war: on my last visit, the country had just sniffed a little of the delicate flowering of democracy, with new beginnings, business and opportunities everywhere, especially for the young generation. On the other hand, there was no development at all due to the previous junta decades and so places like here at Sinma have simply been left to nature. No luxury resorts or other tourist investments took place, just a simple, poor village and fishing life in bamboo huts.

Now just the young Burmese are joining some underground fighters and trying to drive the terrorist army out of their country. Unjust, just because a few old military men want to live on in the past and overthrew a legitimately elected government. | Myanmar.
