Dreaming Pagodas

Sunset in Old Bagan: on an area of 42 km2, originated from the 10.-13.-century. formerly 10,000 beautiful pagodas and monasteries. They were built by the Pyu and Mon. At the end of the 12th century, the Mongols under the reign of Kublai invaded Khan into Bagan. Although they destroyed anything, because they themselves were Buddhists, but Bagan was then abandoned. The houses and palaces made of wood where the builders of the pagodas lived disappeared long ago. Many pagodas were destroyed by earthquake. Today, approximately 2500 part beautiful pagodas are still excisting | Myanmar
