Tobacco and Limestone Mountains

Typical small farm near Viñales: In this valley there are the strangely shaped elevations, called mogotes, which are the result of constant erosion. They only became visible after the collapse of caves that had been washed away by the water. They are made of limestone and are the result of a geological phenomenon that has created an extraordinary landscape around Viñales.

The farmers mainly grow tobacco, from which the famous Cuban cigars are made. | Cuba
