Whizzing Sand

On Sylt, the delicate but robust dune grass gives the dunes their stability. It defies the wind and salty sea air, holds the sand together and thus protects the sensitive dune landscape from erosion. Between the sand dunes, it spreads out its green dress, which is not only a picturesque sight, but also provides a habitat for numerous small animals and plants.
