Oily Trees

For thousands of years olive trees have shaped the Greek landscape. They also line roads and hills on the journey through the Peloponnese.

About 60 olive types are known in Greece. The flowering of the olive tree lasts from April to May, the resulting fruits are initially green, then turn red during the summer months, and finally in autumn their rich black colour indicates their ripeness. | Greece
