Caribbean in the Hindu Kush

One of the six lakes of Band-e-Amir. At about 3000 meters altitude lies the lake district, west of the famous destroyed Buddha statues of Bamiyan. Since 2009 they are the first national park in Afghanistan. Bamiyan is located in the centre of the country in the Hazarajat region and is the cultural centre of the Hazara ethnic group. | Afghanistan
