Summer meadow Sievershütten

The little insect paradise

A rare sight: A summer meadow near Sievershütten with many different flowers. The meadows today are mostly pasture grass and grazing grass, or grass for the biogas plants. Thanks to the Schleswig-Holstein state government's support programme, farmers can leave meadows fallow for several years and plant them with native grass/meadow seeds.

  1. Since school days I have learned that it is essential to have fallow years for the soil to recover.
It should be something normal, without the need for incentives…

    Beautiful landscape! Superb view!
