Not far from here are located in the Valley of Bamiyan: the famous Buddha statues (destroyed by the Taliban). Bamiyan is located in the Centre of the country in the region of Hazarajat. The main city is the largest city in the Hazarajat and the cultural centre of the Hazara ethnicity. ¦ Afghanistan
