On the road in the north: In Thailand, wet rice cultivation is predominant. A total of 20 million tonnes are harvested per year and 5 million tonnes are exported. Rice cultivation is the main source of income for farmers in the country.

  2. It remains to be seen whether the work of farmers is fairly rewarded. Around here, a kilo of rice costs less than €0.90
    To get here at this price, this means that farmers probably earn little more than €0.10 per kilo. Of the 20 million production, only an income of about 2 million remains.
