On the route Los Volcanes de Teneguía: In 1971 the Vulkan Teneguía has been on the front pages of many newspapers after he had broken out and gushed from his core thousands cubic meters of glowing magma to the environment. The last eruption on the Canary Islands covered a large part of the South of the island of La Palma with lava and debris and created a new tourist attraction.
To protect the virgin lava surfaces of the volcane Teneguía and its neighbouring volcanes San Antonio, from the 18th century around, the volcanoes were declared as natural monument | Canary Islands

No doubt it is a landscape of great beauty, even if it does not have the luxuriant vegetation of a forest.
