Irrigation and rain
The Imranlı reservoir, located on the upper reaches of the Kızılırmak River, was created between 1994 and 2002. It serves to irrigate around 11,220 hectares of land and also provides energy. With an area of around 6.5 km² and a storage volume of around 62.5 million m³, the earth dam with a height of around 49 meters is an important building in the region.
In 2010 to 2021, the average fill level was around 57 %, with fluctuating between extreme values of almost 28 % (2012) and a maximum of around 76 % (2018). The lake is ecologically valuable - numerous fish species such as carp, rainbow trout and other freshwater fish live here. Since 2019, the area has been designated as a protected natural area to particularly secure the environment and the source of Kızılırmak. | Türkiye
