Pink Islam

Muslima at Koh Lanta market: Koh Lanta consists of 4 cultures, Buddhism, Islam, the Thai-Chinese and the Sea Gypsies. Widespread on the island, Islam is the most, you can see that many women dressed in head scarves rather unusual for Thailand. They live on the West Coast at Lanta New Town together with Buddhists.

On the East Coast, the Lanta old town, there are a few small villages, where Thai-Chinese live, cultural and completely divers also regarding lifestyle and architecture. At the South-East coast of the island, small fishing people of Gypsies live in the Gypsie village on Chao Leh, an Indo Malaysian Sea Nomad people who especially connected with the ocean with a long tradition.
