Wet Maghreb

Tazekka National Park in the northern Middle Atlas is one of Morocco’s most ecologically significant protected areas. It was established in 1950 to preserve the rare Atlas cedars around Jbel Tazekka, which rises to a height of 1,980 metres. Today, the park covers more than 12,000 hectares of dense forests, karst caves, gorges, springs and waterfalls. Its diverse habitats provide an important refuge for numerous animal and plant species. | Morocco
