Romania bus stop Nucinistoara

Where the bus stop knows more stories than Google

Deep in the heart of Romania lies Nucșara - a village so quiet that even the chickens whisper. There are forests, mountains, cows with personality - and: the bus stop.

This bus stop is no ordinary place. No, it is the social hotspot of the village. This is where the granny with the best gossip meets at seven in the morning, the tractor driver with the loudest engine - and sometimes even the bus. Sometimes.

Because the bus to Hateg either arrives on time like Swiss clockwork - or not at all. You never know. That's why it's best to bring a picnic with you to the bus stop. And a pack of cards. And maybe a tent.

The bus stop itself? A rickety shelter with charm, patina and a sagging, crooked plastic seat that has carried more people than the local mayor has shaken hands with.

But Nucșoara bus stop has soul. Friendships have been made here, love stories have begun - and at least one wild boar has been chased away.

So if you really want to experience Romania, you shouldn't just go to Bucharest or Sibiu. They should go to Nucșoara. And wait at the bus stop. For the bus. For stories. Or simply for life.

At noon - in the evening - at night Against the storm

    Man spricht deutsch?
    Man spricht rumänisch?
