Wilde Landschaften in Andalusien – Die Gorafe Wüste.
This desert is unique for its impressive scenery and geological beauty, full of colors, canyons, fairy chimneys, and deep canyons.
The Gorafe desert, also known as the Badlands, cuts through the landscape of the Guadix-Baza lowlands like a river valley. In fact, more than 100,000 years ago there was a lake surrounded by mountains with a rich animal and plant life. This poured over the River Guadiana Menor into the River Guadalquivir, leaving behind an interesting sedimentary basin. What remained was a unique, rugged relief with an unmistakable character.
Depending on the time of day, you can experience a play of light in yellow, red, orange and blue. Numerous cave dwellings and over two hundred megalithic tombs in a megalithic park can also be found in the area.
