Ras al Jinz or also called Turtle Beach: In 1996, a nature reserve for sea turtles was established. Since 2008, there has been a visitor centre with a museum, which also offers night tours to the beach and accommodation for tourists.
The beach is an important nesting site, especially for the green sea turtle. The main egg-laying season is from May to September. However, adult females laying eggs and hatchlings can be seen on the beach all year round, although not in as large numbers as during the main months.
The nocturnal activities of the turtles are still clearly visible in the morning. Of course, we were only allowed to approach this stretch of beach together with the reserve's supervision.

All natural sites deserve and must be preserved. However, some, due to their importance to the ecosystem, are mandatory preservation.
Congratulations to Oman, for the creation of the nature reserve, and to Omar for the photo report.
