In the Tamnougalt Kasbah in the Draa Valley: The partially restored ruins of the "Kasbah of Tamnougalt", also known as the "Kasbah des caïds", are located four kilometres south of Agdz on a rocky spur on the left bank of the Drâa.
Apart from the endless date palms in the valley, there are countless gardens in front of the Kasbah where grapes, fruit trees, pepper plants, vegetables and other agricultural products thrive.
The village was located on the caravan road that led from Fez via Marrakech to Timbuktu. The fortress was built in the 16th century to protect Tamnougalt from looters using stones, adobe bricks and clay. From the Kasbah you have a magnificent view of the Drâa valley. | Morocco
Beautiful architecture and ruins with the warm tones of clay!
Very nice. Excellent images.
I am always amazed, thanks to your photos, to have a glimpse of these places that I will most likely never see through my eyes.
Thanks for sharing.
Interesting series of pictures. Unfortunately, I’ve never travelled there, hopefully one day I’ll get the chance.
