Faizabad streets bazaar in the evening.

Towards the high Hindu Kush in the evening, last rays of sunlight graze the snow-covered peaks. People will have other worries today, the economy has collapsed drastically after the Taliban took power, women are no longer allowed to walk the streets alone, work or go to school.

In 2011, there were still women in the bazaar, but even then they wore the burqa. Women worked in all kinds of institutions, for NGOs and government organizations, in industry and crafts. And now, in one fell swoop, they are not allowed to do so. All this has a huge, bitter impact on social and economic life, also in Faizabad. | Afghanistan
