In the consumer sumps

On a cold winter morning in the Taloqan bazaar: In the tranquil alleys of the bazaar you can find everything. From fruit, vegetables, food and household goods to electrical goods and handicrafts. The many alleys are the natural representation of our consumer world. Here, however, each individual earns his or her livelihood with his or her small shop or handicraft business.

Taloqan is the capital of the province of Tahar in northern Afghanistan. Estimates for 2017 assume 77,000 inhabitants. Taloqan is the tenth largest city in Afghanistan.
