Fish and jelabi in the Kabul bazaar: Jalebi is deep-fried dough that has been doused with sugar syrup and soaked in it. Jalebi are usually shaped like small circles, squiggles or pretzels. (The main thing is round.) Jalebi can be eaten warm or cold. The dough is coloured with saffron or food colouring. Sometimes lemon juice or rose water is added to the sugar syrup. | Afghanistan
