The Crab Woman

In the stilt village of Koh Panyee, the old lady sells roasted prawns in spicy breadcrumbs: located in Phang Nga Bay, the village was founded by Muslim fishermen in the 18th century. Today, around 1,600 people live there. Koh Panyee is known for its floating houses, its mosque and its legendary football team, which trains on a floating pitch. The village is a popular tourist destination and offers a unique insight into life on the water. | Thailand
