Shah-e Doh Shamshira Mosque in Kabul | Afghanistan

Located directly on the Kabul River, the mosque forms a distinctive landmark that has survived the turmoil of the war relatively unscathed.
In its present appearance, it was constructed under the reign of Amir Habibullahs (1901-1919) in 1916 with influences of Germans and Austrians.

  1. Etwas irritiert hat mich der Baustil, aber der Text hat das dann aufgeklärt. Ich glaube, das heute ein Moscheeneubau in derart dem westlichen Stil angelehnt, nicht akzeptiert würde.

  2. Die Griechen, Römer, Italiener u.a. waren aber auch nicht ganz unbeteiligt ;-)
    + Minarett = Super-Multi-Kulti-Mix
