After the secularization of Hagia Sophia, barely 500 meters away, it was Istanbul's main mosque until July 2020, since July 24, 2020, the Hagia Sophia is again the main mosque of the city. In Europe, it is known as the Blue Mosque because of its wealth of blue and white tiles that adorn the dome and upper part of the walls, but are younger than the building itself. | Turkey
