Pink Stones

There are few places on the island that have been as architecturally revitalised as Trinidad. The small town is undoubtedly one of the best-restored colonial towns on the island - perhaps even a little too perfectly. The colourful facades and cobbled streets almost seem like a backdrop for tourism, while the everyday life of the locals often remains in the background. Despite the authentic music scene and the impressive history behind the city, the heavily visitor-centred charm can feel a little staged at times. | Cuba
