New Beginning

On the banks of the Mekong River stands an almost deserted and run-down house. Only on the ground floor the owner tries to earn money with a small restaurant to start a renovation.

The influence of the former colonial rulers, the French, can be found everywhere in the small and sleepy capital Vientiane. It was first in 1949 that France granted Laos independence within the French Union. The mix of Laotian and French architecture makes the city interesting. | Laos
