Glass Water

Since 2005, the ZDF regional studio in Hamburg has been located on the seventh floor of the Deichtor Office Centre, a striking office building designed by architects Jens Bothe, Kai Richter and Hadi Teherani. The building, constructed between 2000 and 2002, is located on Deichtorplatz, in the immediate vicinity of the Speicherstadt and Hafencity, opposite the DER SPIEGEL publishing house. With its triangular, tapered shape, it is reminiscent of a ship's bow and thus makes a reference to the historic Chilehaus in the neighbouring Kontorhaus district. The Deichtor Office Centre has won several awards, including the BDA Hamburg Architecture Prize in 2005.

  1. I believe it’s a beautiful architectural ensemble, and the photograph, with its harmonious light, only enhances the overall composition, bringing out its true elegance.
