Noises in the Morning

Part of a newer mosque in Kunduz: the minaret with its small loudspeaker tower is also used by pigeons as a resting place. Otherwise, the tinny sound of the muezzin in the early morning is just as loud and insistent as in the old mosques nearby. By then at the latest, the pigeons flutter away, annoyed. | Afghanistan
