The Mediothek Afghanistan was founded in 2001 as a non-profit organization in Afghanistan. It is represented in Afghanistan with many community centers and media houses in various provinces.

Precisely because a lot has to change in the country, the Mediothek has set itself the following tasks:

• Strengthening civil society structures and peace capacities
• Development and support of pluralistic media
• Promoting democratic values and a culture of tolerance and non-violence
• Promoting the building of communities, institutions and nation-building

Despite the difficult conditions in the country, the organisation is still operating and is at least still active in many provinces | Afghanistan
