Old walls

Medina from Nizwa: In the restored fort there is the souk and some small tea houses. Parts of the fort can also be visited. The monumental fort was built around 1650 by Sultan ibn Saif I.. However, its foundations date back to the 12th century. As the capital of Oman at that time, Nizwa and its mighty fortress were the headquarters of the acting rulers | Oman
