Rust in the waves
On the beach of Ras Madrakah, where the wind constantly drives salt and sand over the land, the fishermen pull their boats out of the water in old, rickety pick-ups. The vehicles, often decades old and scarred by the climate, still perform their duties reliably. It is a pragmatic solution in a harsh environment where high-tech seems out of place. Between the sea, the sound of the engine and the scraping of the tyres in the damp sand, a picture emerges that tells of both everyday life and quiet perseverance. | Oman
